Senior Product Designer
Apply for roleSTRAND is real-time architecture mapping for engineering teams running service-heavy systems. The product maps every dependency, tracks every change, and surfaces blast radius before anything ships. The users are engineers. The problems are complex. The interface needs to make hard information feel clear and immediate without getting in the way. That is the design challenge this role owns.
You will work directly with the founding team to shape the product experience across everything STRAND ships. This is a high-ownership design role at a company that cares deeply about the quality of what it builds. You will set the standard, not just execute against someone else's vision.
What you will work on
- Own the end-to-end design of new product features, from early problem framing through to shipped experience.
- Design complex data-dense interfaces that give engineers genuine clarity during incident response and architectural review.
- Build and maintain STRAND's design system and ensure consistency across every surface of the product.
- Work closely with engineering to ensure designs are implemented with the same level of care they were designed with.
- Conduct design research with real users and translate what you learn into concrete product decisions.
- Contribute to how STRAND thinks about product quality and raise the bar on every release.
What we are looking for
- 5 or more years in product design with a portfolio that demonstrates genuine craft — not just clean screens but evidence of hard problems solved well.
- Experience designing for technical users or developer tooling. You understand how engineers think and what frustrates them in product interfaces.
- Strong systems thinking. You design components, not just screens. You think about edge cases before someone else finds them.
- You can move fast between low-fidelity exploration and high-fidelity execution without losing precision at either end.
- Comfortable pushing back when a brief does not make sense. You ask hard questions and bring better answers.
- Figma proficiency is assumed. Experience with data visualization or graph interfaces is a strong plus.
How we work
- Fully remote. Work from wherever you do your best work.
- Async by default. Meetings exist when they need to, not as a reflex.
- Small team. Your decisions ship. There is no committee.
- We move fast and cut anything that does not serve the outcome.
What we offer
- Competitive salary and equity with straightforward terms.
- Five weeks paid vacation plus local public holidays.
- Health coverage based on your location.
- Home office or co-working stipend.
- Four months paid parental leave.
- Regular team off-sites.
