Senior Infrastructure Engineer

STRAND is real-time architecture mapping for engineering teams running service-heavy systems. The product maps every dependency, tracks every change, and surfaces blast radius before anything ships. The infrastructure behind that needs to stay fast and accurate at a scale most teams do not operate at. This role owns a significant piece of that.

You will work directly with the founding team on the core systems STRAND is built on. The work is technical, high-ownership, and has direct impact on what every customer sees the moment they open the product.

What you will work on

• Own the infrastructure behind STRAND's dependency discovery and graph ingestion pipeline.
• Design and operate distributed systems that process service mesh data, infrastructure configuration, and live traffic at scale.
• Build reliability and observability tooling for STRAND's own production environment.
• Work with the engineering team to define infrastructure standards as the product scales.
• Reduce latency and improve accuracy of the dependency graph engine under high-volume workloads.
• Participate in on-call rotation and drive improvements that reduce incident frequency over time.

What we are looking for

• 5 or more years in infrastructure or platform engineering with meaningful time spent on distributed systems in production.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP.
• Solid understanding of service mesh architectures and network-level telemetry.
• Experience designing and operating data pipelines at scale, ideally involving graph or time-series data.
• You write code. This is not a pure ops role. Comfort in Go or Python is expected.
• A bias toward building systems that are simple to operate and honest about their failure modes.
